OUR STORY
I've been around the construction industry literally as far back as I can remember...being 4 years old running wires under crawlspaces for my parents! The older I got the more I learned. My stepdad was a jack-of-all-trades...electrical, carpentry, plumbing, roofing, painting, etc. It wasn't till I graduated high school that I went to work in the masonry field with my uncle-in-law. I took to it like a duck to water! It just came easy to me.
After business had slowed down in the area due to Fort Campbell deploying during Desert Sheild, I found my way, through another uncle, and hired on to work on the Natchez Trace Bridge! I started out as a laborer and worked my way up to concrete forming, then structural reinforcement (tying rebar), which led to actually hanging those giant bridge segments! It was the greatest learning experience of my life.
Once the bridge was finished, I returned to the commercial masonry field taking all the knowledge I had learned with me. I helped to build highrises, schools prisons, megachurches, etc (actual projects I've participated in on, pictured left). I quickly rose to the top learning skills and techniques from anyone I could along the way. I even tried my hand in the local masonry competition...placed 2nd! not bad for my first competition!
As I continued honing my craft, I realized I had a special knack for restoration. It's what separated me from other masons...well, that and my speed! I took great pride in blending the new seamlessly into the old by antiquing the new products (brick, stone, and mortar) to match existing masonry. I found my niche!
In 2009, I was tasked with a problem that took the combination of skills I had learned in my construction career and developed a technique to retro-fit failing lintels and restore the structural integrity along with attention to make the repair look as if it never happened...Simple Soultions was born!
My oldest son has been by my side since he was about 8 years old, learning the trade from me. As a family business, I couldn't be more proud that he has adopted the same talent and passion for superior quality as his old man!
